About Us

~

The misuse of and addiction to opioids such as heroin, morphine, and prescription pain relievers is a serious global problem that affects the health, social, and economic welfare of all societies and is quickly reaching epidemic proportions. The effects of this “epidemic” has had a substantive impact on Warren County, New Jersey. The consequences of this epidemic of misuse have been devastating and are on the rise. Lives are lost on a weekly basis, and the lives of family and friends are destroyed even more rapidly. While many State, County, Municipal and Private organizations struggle to serve our communities and our citizen’s needs by helping to prevent and treat the misuse of these dangerous substances, there is a demonstrated need to identify local resources and funding required to meet the demand.

It is for this reason that the Warren County Addiction Awareness Task Force was established. This volunteer organization has been established to address the increase in heroin and opioid drug abuse problem and addiction epidemic in Warren County.

Our Mission

We help to change lives by organizing and empowering local organizations to prevent substance abuse and its related problems at home, school and work with proven, practical resources, prevention education, treatment and recovery support services.

Our Vision

To be Warren County’s source of Focus for substance misuse prevention, education treatment and recovery support resources.
